Friday morning we awoke to the news that His Majesty, King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, had passed away. This day we traveled from Sangkhom to Muangloei, a long and slow day. As we passed through small towns and rural bus stops, every newspaper was filled with images of the King and his life story. Where there were televisions, they were all broadcasting the same program, an uninterrupted legacy of the King's life alternating with the scenes of mourning that are now taking place.
The King was revered by a great many Thai people. My One and I offer our sincere condolences to all of the people of Thailand on this sad occasion.
